Woodbury Union Church has a 5 Octave set of Malmark handbells.

Our bell choir is 13 members-big enough to play 5 octaves of bells!  We play about once a month.  We like to do music that incorporates a lot of different bell techniques as well as different styles of music.  We also play away from church a few times during the year, such as at the Palm Sunday service at Lakewood Baptist Church, sometimes at the Ecumenical Thanksgiving service, occasionally at an Eastern Star or Masonic Temple  meeting.

We have several ongoing small groups of bell ringers that do special music during church and also play for special occasions.  Last year the trio of Ed Young, Shauna Edson and Lorrie Simons played at a benefit concert & a wedding, for example.  Every other year we attend an Area I Bell Festival.  This year it was at URI.  We learned 6 new songs to rehearse and perform together with many other bell choirs (700 or so people)-you will be hearing the songs throughout the year!  We had 9 people from our choir attend-we stay in the dorms, eat in the cafeteria, attend classes, rehearse and listen to people ring all day and at night too.  We're already looking forward to 2009!
